WV V was formed in 2001 by several officers from the Berkeley County WV Sheriff’s Department in Martinsburg, WV. From our humble start with only eight members we have grown to over fifty members, active and retired from federal, state and local police agencies. Our membership includes: US Secret Service, VA Police, ATF, WV State Police, WV Sheriff’s Departments in Morgan, Berkeley, Jefferson, Hampshire and Mineral Counties, Washington Metro PD, NYPD, Philadelphia PD, Martinsburg PD, WV DOC, WV ERJ, Frederick Co VA SD, Ranson PD, Romney PD, Alexandria VA PD, Keyser PD, St. Mary’s Co MD SD, MD State Police and Camden Co NJ Sheriff’s Dept.
We have worked very hard over the years with our main fundraising activity; the annual Martinsburg Bike Night held on the third weekend in August on a Saturday night. The Chapter recently learned that with our 2012 donation, we have donated over 100K to Hospice of the Panhandle and other worthwhile charities. We also give back to our own ranks by helping sick and distressed police officers and their families.
Our 10th Anniversary Bike Night which was held in August 2012 was attended by thousands. We have a lot of fun with the event and also help to bring attention to the businesses and merchants in the Downtown Martinsburg, West Virginia community.
2012 was one of our finest years. Our chapter participated or hosted the following rides in 2012: National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial Ride, Canaan Ride to WV II’s event, Flight 93 Memorial Ride, Bike Night Law Ride, FBI Camp Dawson Ride, Fall Colors Ride.
We are always looking for brothers and sisters in the Law Enforcement community to join our Chapter. If you ride and are interested in joining the Blue Knights contact us and we’ll get you an application, as there are some basic requirements in becoming a Blue Knight. We will be more than glad to explain them to you in detail and see if you qualify in becoming a member of the largest Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club in the World.
